Top Summer Festivals in Hungary – Ultimate Guide for 2026
- 4 Jun 2026 4:12 PM
The season gets under way in June with Daad Gathering in Igar, FEZEN Festival in Székesfehérvár, Campus Fesztivál in Debrecen and Fishing on Orfű in Baranya county, all taking place within days of each other. Budapest also hosts the Danube Carnival in mid-June, while the Budapest Music Festival is listed for late June.
July brings VeszprémFest, along with the start of the Valley of Arts festival, which runs into early August. One of the biggest international highlights, the O.Z.O.R.A. Festival, is set for late July to early August in Dádpuszta, again drawing crowds to Fejér county.
August is traditionally the busiest festival month of the year, and 2026 is no exception. Sziget Festival returns to Budapest from 11 to 15 August, while Strand Festival takes place in Zamárdi later in the month. National Day on 20 August will also bring citywide celebrations in Budapest, including free public programmes and concerts.
Later in the year, Budapest continues to host major cultural events, while September remains active with festivals such as the Budapest Wine Festival. Taken together, the 2026 calendar shows that Hungary remains one of the region’s most festival-rich destinations, with strong appeal for both local audiences and international visitors.
