Cross-Balaton Swim Will Be Held This Saturday

This year the annual big swim across Balaton will be organized on Saturday, 1 August. Last year more than 9,000 people participated, swimming the 5.2 kilometre distance between Révfülöp in the north and Balatonboglár on the southern shore of the lake.

Pest county police have contacted the Hungarian Kayak-Canoe Federation regarding the two athletes who were suspended after tests revealed that they had taken cocaine. The Federation yesterday decided to throw the two, five-time world champion Tamara Csipes and Bence Dombvári, off the national team.
