A smaller majority, 57%, did not express a preference for any political party, outnumbering the 43% who did. The poll showed that only 16% of the population supports Fidesz, down from 18% in December. The Socialists had 11% overall support, Jobbik 8% and LMP 4%.

The cabinet issued a decree setting a Ft 371 billion spending ceiling for the month of December in order to meet the 3.8% budget deficit target for 2010.
