Pentecost is a major public holiday, observed on Sunday 24 May 24 and Monday 25 May in Hungary this year. Known as Pünkösd in Hungarian and historically referred to as Whitsun in English, this Christian celebration provides a three-day weekend that is popular for excursions, cultural exploration, and experiencing rural traditions.
