The codification of an EU directive to make it easier for consumers to switch banks is currently under way at the central bank and the Economy Ministry, MNB head of financial infrastructure Lajos Bartha told Napi Gazdaság. Currently, it takes an average of 30 days to change banks.

Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK) awarded German-based global solutions provider Scheidt & Bachmann a €91 mln five-year contract to design, supply and manage an automated multi-modal fare collection system, railwaygazette.com reported. Some €54.5 mln will be provided for the project by the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development and HUF 5.3 bln by the municipality of Budapest.

The question is not so much of what bothers me rather the tone from the interrogator; one that implies that California is a dreamland and Budapest is, well, the opposite.
